- Mughal court paintings are a particular style of South Asian painting, developed in the court of the Mughal Empire of the 16th to 18th centuries. The Mughal emperors were Muslims and they are credited with consolidating Islam in South Asia, and spreading Muslim arts and culture as well as the faith
- Camel bone was used in Mughal school of art, particularly in regions like Udaipur - traditionally painted on ivory, artists in Udaipur transitioned to using camel bone as a substitute after ivory was banned
- Beautifully framed; frame and work in excellent condition, save some slight chips to corners; this work is likely on camel bone and hard to date but again is likely from late 18th C
